Teaching and pregnancy
I’m currently teaching in the UK and am almost 19 weeks pregnant. My head teacher came to me today asking if I will be staying after 28 weeks or working from home as that is what is advised by the government. I haven’t been vaccinated and with this job it has always been very hard to socially distance.
There’s rising rates again in my area and it’s worrying that even if the child’s parent has covid they don’t need to isolate.
I’m obviously leaning towards working from home as I know this is the safest thing to do but I’m feeling such a huge amount of teacher guilt.
If you were in my position, would you go off at 28 weeks?
