birthday gift HELP !!!!

i’m going to sound like a POS but my husbands birthday was today, he’s away for work so while we were on the phone tonight i mentioned how excited i was to give him his birthday gift when he gets home. it was $2,000 for a new set of golf clubs because his are old as fuck.. on the phone he said “well i hope it’s nothing golf related because i just bought *insert some brand of golf clubs that i forget the name of* for myself.”

i panicked and tried to laugh it off, ended up saying i got him something really cool and it’ll knock his socks off 🤦‍♀️

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP, what the hell do i do now ?? i have no back up plan and i feel bad because he is literally so good at gift giving and every year he says “i don’t need a present i just want to spend it with you” and then i end up getting him some mediocre gift. this year i actually planned it out and he turns around and buys it for himself UGGGGGHHHHHHHH
