So I have been googling this topic like crazy as I’m not due to see my doctor for 2 more weeks and there’s just SO much competing stuff online.

I found out I was pregnant 3 weeks ago and I am a pretty dedicated weightlifter in my spare time and have been for several years. I have continued to go to the gym and just not ‘push it’ like crazy.

I was able to find information on what should absolutely be avoided, but not really much on lifting weights. I know the old adage that you should not lift more than 40 pounds but I wonder how accurate that is… considering 40 pounds for a small person or beginner would be substantially different than a larger person or intermediate lifter (of which I fall in the latter category).

Did anyone continue to workout on a more challenging level while you were pregnant? Or have any insight?
