How can I get labor started?

Question

I’m 37 weeks pregnant. Been in and out of the hospital and I am 4cm dilated, 50% effaced and -2 station. I’m in so much pain, still having contractions but my body is not progressing. How can I get labor going. I’m so exhausted and uncomfortable at this point 😭.

I thought 4cm was classed as active labour.. surely the hospital should help you out or keep you in to progress things more?

Unfortunately nothing can definitely start up labor but you can do things to get baby lower, that might progress things. Look up youtube videos on how to get baby to drop lower in your pelvis. Usually simple stuff you can do at home and walking will be good also, the swaying motion of your hips encourages the baby to drop lower. Or you can ask for a sweep at your next appointment. My ob starts sweeps at 38w.

my friend sat at 4cm for 3 weeks, tried everything and had to be induced. The only thing i suggest is talk to your OB. 
baby will come when baby is ready and as frustrating as that sounds, it will be all worth it!!
