Am I overreacting?

My son is 5 years old, he has his favorite thing to say when he is upset or frustrated .. that is " shut up dummy head " to me it's not the end of the world, but I don't approve of him saying it. I do try certain things with him. I find it disrespectful. So my boyfriend of three years, started scaring him with the saw dolls laugh. He did it the other day and my son had nightmares, I don't approve at all of him doing this and he knows that, i think it's traumatizing. Now we are in the room and he does it out of no where, when I'm having a conversation with my 5 year old about his words. He goes running and screaming. I told him he has absolutely no right to scare him, that is not parenting.
