I’ve been prescribed metformin 500mg 2xs daily due to pcos and recurrent miscarriage(8 losses)

I have no underlying issues that explain the miscarriages - I’ve had all the testing done, but I do have pcos

My last 4 pregnancies were conceived on clomid because I was no longer ovulating

I’m overweight- probably medically obese by BMI, I try to eat healthy and workout but can’t seem to lose more than 10 lbs ever! I’m stuck at 190lbs (5’6). I also try to eat low carb which is recommended for pcos

I know metformin helps with insulin resistance but I really don’t even know what that means. Will it help me lose weight?

I’m being prescribed it to help get pregnant but I’m just curious if it may help me with my weight too?
