Remove birth control

I’ve been on nexplanon going on 6 years and I have to get it taken out in early April 2022

My husband and I want to wait till late July to start trying for a baby but I’m stuck on what I should do . Should I get it again and just get it removed 4 months later?

It’s the only birth control I’ve been on and we don’t use condoms so I really don’t want to take a chance and not be on anything till we are ready . I picked this one bc I’m bad at remembering to take stuff . It makes me have crazy period but I’m use to it now .
