Gender reveal with the baby shower?

So my mom is on my a$$ that I want to have my gender reveal with my baby shower that we’re having where I live (my fam is 3 hours away so we’re doing one with his fam here, n 1 at my moms for my fam-so ppl don’t have to drive 3 hours to come) 
Anyway my mom is all up in arms that I want to do the gender reveal at the shower we’re having out here, but my mom in law (amazing woman as is my mom I’m very lucky) wants to have this shower so damn early we will have JUST found out gender, n I hate when ppl send me a hundred invites for diff things all related to one baby, and I don’t see the point in doing 2 parties 2 weeks apart. Plus I’m AWFUL at planning and I hate doing it. She said it’s cuz baby showers are normally women only n gender reveals are all genders invited I’m like why does a baby shower have to be only women invited?? It’s our party I want to invite everyone anyway...
Anyway is it so weird to have them together?

Maybe I'm weird, but my baby shower was not "women-only" (my best friend is a guy, and my Dad, father in law, brother and brother in law came too, among other ppl) It's 2021, choose the traditions you like!👍

I don’t think it’s weird having both at same time but then also on the other side , you’ll do a gender reveal and then people will have neutral colour clothing , if you’re not bothered then do 2 in 1.
My mate said oh Jamie can’t come baby showers are for women only, I don’t get that , it’s his baby too .
I’m not one for superstitions and things like that

No it’s not. Do what you want it’s your baby, your party. & I haven’t been to a women only baby shower in years lol it’s 2021. Don’t let anyone dictate the things that would make you happy. They’ve had their baby showers with their own kids, now it’s your turn.

Both of my baby showers was mixed gender and the guys loved it just as much as the females im doing 3 parties in one im doing bonfire night (im in the uk) gender reveal and the baby shower all in one go its your party and your baby don't let anyone dictate to you on something you want to do xx

Tho my event will be intimate and small, it’ll be mixed gendered. We’ll also be doing a baby shower/gender reveal in the same night. We’re spread out family wise. Hubby & I are in Texas, MIL is in north Florida & my family in south Florida (about 3hrs apart). Both the in laws & I will be driving to south Florida for the event & thankfully nobody has made any fuss. 🙂

I just had mine together this past weekend and it was perfect!  I’m 16 weeks (due 3/20/2022) and didn’t want to have my shower in the middle of the winter.  This way I was able to have my shower and reveal outdoors and everything went really awesome 🙂

I did mine at the same time and mine was a month before I gave birth! My husband was there and helped me open gifts- which I loved because I don’t like the spotlight on me. The venue was above a brewery so my brothers came and had a beer while we did games and presents and then was able to help carry gifts. It was a win/ win for us!

My friend did a baby shower with men and women and it's was really fun! Everyone still participated in all the games and I'll probably do the same for my shower! 
The gender part would be fun as well as long as your okay with all gender nuteral items. If not though maybe you can do a Skype reveal with everyone before the party.
