Getting induced tomorrow!

Jessee

Going in at 7:30pm tomorrow, if the rooms still available, and getting induced. Hopefully things go well, this is my first and I’ve heard/read of all the bad things with induction so I’m a bit nervous. Really hoped baby boy would come out on his own, but he’s stubborn. Any advice or encouragement? 😅 Also what kind of snacks should we take to the hospital?

I dnt have an advice but best of luck mama. My induction date is also set and im scared. First baby. Did they mention how they are going to induce you? Or what type of food to eat on induction day morning and night before? And during induction process?

Also I recommend watching positive induction birth YouTube videos, I’ve watched a few and it made me calm down a bit more. And, if you are, keep doing all the stuff to “naturally induce” i.e. walking, sex, bouncing on an exercise ball (I bounce on the edge of the bed 😂). And remember to just relax and take care of yourself, don’t stress too much take a warm bath and just breathe. WE GOT THIS! 💕

Thank you! The first time I had a cervix check it hurt really bad and they had to stop because my cervix was high still, but the second time wasn’t as bad still hurt and uncomfortable but it wasn’t as bad as the first time. Just remember to breath if you get a cervical check and don’t tense up too much. They should have you lay down on your back, have your legs up and heels together like you’re doing the butterfly leg stretch but laying down if that makes sense 😅. And they stick a finger up there and move around to check how dilated you are and effaced. She also did a membrane strip for me and that was a bit uncomfortable, it’s like a quick swipe, but it was all fast. If you get one maybe you can ask them to distract you like talk about something different while doing the check so you aren’t so focused on the pain. I pray everything goes good for you and I will keep you updated! I totally understand the fear, I know tomorrow once I’m in the hospital it’ll all kick in and I’m sure I’ll cry many times 😂, but personally for me I know God has me and baby in His hands and we’re going to be okay that’s what’s keeping me calm and positive right now haha.

I hope everything goes well for you. Do share your experience. Did the cervix check hurt or just uncomfortable? I never had any pelvic exam. And how do they do it? I heard if you are dilated it hurts less. Im trying to stay calm.

I was in labor for 3 days with my first. I was induced because I let them talk me into it. The worst pain I’ve ever experienced, far worse than my other 3 labors. The contractions are bad because they don’t build up and let your body adjust, it’s like they just slam on at the highest setting all at once. I was stuck in bed with a catheter not able to eat or drink anything the entire 3 days. The medicine made me nauseated so I was constantly throwing up and light headed, it sucked, basically. I’m not trying to scare you, I know some women do it and they’re fine, for me it wasn’t that way. I always advise that if you and baby are healthy, let your body do what it was made to do on its own.

Oh gosh hahaha, yeah my doctor said that some women have contractions and not even feel them. I’m dilated to 3cm as of yesterday I don’t know if I’ve made anymore progress, hopefully I have cause I’ve been walking every night and maybe things will go a bit easier. 😅

When I went in I think I was 2cm? This was 8 years ago so hard to remember, but I remember she hooked me up to the machine and asked if I had been having any contractions and I said no. She goes, oh really? You’re having one right now. So I guess I had been having really light early ones i just couldn’t feel them. I completely understand the position you’re in! I made a deal with my dr that as long as baby was healthy and my fluid levels were still ok she’d let me go a bit longer. With my 3rd baby I had last year I was almost a week and half overdue before he decided to join the party lol

Thank you! Were you dilated at all before you got induced? And I’ve been trying to get my body to go into labor on it’s own, but my doctors office place doesn’t recommend going a week past the due date since the chances of stillbirth increase. Hopefully between now and tomorrow he decides to come out on his own. 🤞

They had to induce me with my first because my water was leaking. The contractions were pretty bad, but manageable if you have a good support person. My labor ended in a csection for reasons completely unrelated to the induction so I can’t say much beyond how contractions were. I’m sure you’ll do great. Being protein bars and crackers, those were helpful last time I went!
