Confused

My boyfriend and I tried to have sex last night… the key word is TRIED as we couldn’t manage to get his penis inside me… this is both of our first times not that you can really consider it as such… he couldn’t find my opening either so I helped him direct it to it and then it hurt as he tried to get into where I’m pretty certain it is… I don’t think I was as ready to go as he was as we didn’t really do any or much foreplay but I’m still worried there is something wrong with me… when I have fingered myself I wasn’t able to get in there either and I have never used a tampon so my anxiety is leading me to think there’s something wrong?

If anyone can offer any sort of explanation as to what might be going on or any advice please please let me know…
