When is the best time to do a self breast check?

I'm seeing mixed answers on google. One source says a week after your period, but it doesn't specify if that is one week after the start of it or the last day of menstruation, Another says 3-5 days after start of period. Another says 10 days after the start of your period. Another says 2 weeks after your period?
Update: I'm a hypochondriac, so checking every single day is too daunting for me. They say once a month is good enough. I was just trying to find out the best time because I know close to or during menstruation, breasts can swell up.

I was always taught to do it once per month. I remember my local news channel growing up reminded their viewers to do self exams the 11th of every month. Personally if I had them I’d do a check the first day of my period so I know my hormones are at roughly the same level every time.

I’ve heard that as long as you pick the same day (ie try to always check x number of days after your period starts) that it’s the most accurate. 🤷🏻‍♀️ makes sense to me

Checking every day isn’t necessary or accurate. Your breast change quite often. You should know what your breasts feel like in every phase of your cycle. If anything changes or is out of the ordinary, you’ll know. Shoot for once a week, note where you might be in your cycle. This will help you sus out normal hormonal changes.

I make my OB do it. I have fibrocystic breasts and it's hard for me to tell the difference in lumps. And they're always there. I'm basically checking for new ones or larger ones.
