Haakaa??Pros and cons

I pumped with my first and plan to latch with my second. I’ve heard the haakaa is good but can get annoying. How did you like it? All the pros she cons please!!

Well, I absolutely hate pumping. But I need to produce milk for my SO when I’m at work. The Haakaa allows me to get away with less pumping. It’s a pretty passive way of collecting the milk that would just leak into a towel during let down while baby is latched. As baby gets more active, they kick and grab at it though. At least mine did

Love it early on as it’s a good way to build up a stash without really pumping. But after a few weeks I usually switch to manually pumping the opposite side baby’s feeding on, produces much more milk that way

It’s good for catching letdown from the other boob when baby is feeding, but that’s it
Make sure you get a necklace for it so it doesn’t fall or get kicked off

Absolutely loved it. I was able to get 1500+oz in my freezer stash by using it most feedings

I hated it wasn’t worth the hype one boob did better then the other on it they kept saying in the reviews it shouldn’t hurt but it sure the hell did I bought two but it was a waste

I found a video online of how to keep it in place by looping nursing bra around it. Helped keep it in place while nursing! Could also try milk savers as another method. Anything to capture that extra letdown milk is nice to save for bottles

I was wondering this too because I only breastfed 2 weeks with my first due to latching issues, and plan to try again. I just bought a Haaka today so I'm hoping it does its job lol.

Also curious! Some people have sworn by it and others said it was more of a pain and not worth it
