Husband leaving town…

Would you be ticked??

I’ll be 39 weeks tomorrow. Not many signs of labor. Some dilation and effacement. Due date is 10/25. My husband get 2 months of paid paternity leave after baby is born.

Him and his dad thought it would be a wonderful time for them to bond and book a hotel 8 hours away November 4th through the 8th. His dad almost died 4-5 years ago due to a heart attack and diabetic shock. So, my husband feels like this is a good time to go on this trip to his dad’s mom’s hometown. Dumb.

So, as of right now, I’ll be 1 to 2 weeks postpartum, IF THAT, with a newborn, 2 year old and 14 year old (luckily I have him, but he’s in school all day).

It’s supposed to be a paternity leave to bond with his baby and help me out and he is leaving. I’m ticked!!! My parents are a half hour away and are retired so if I needed something, I have them. But this isn’t their baby or their responsibility, it’s his. And his dad doesn’t even see anything wrong with it. I feel like they’re being sooo selfish! Or am I?

An outside perspective would be appreciated.
