No response but they’re active on socials. Do you get upset or nahh?

When your significant other doesn’t reply to your messages for a long ass time but is active on social media, like actively replying and such to others, does it make you upset? What does it mean?

Scrolling on socials takes no effort, nor concentration. Just because they're scrolling mindlessly doesn't mean they're happy to have a conversation. Let's normalise not needing to reply immediately to non urgent communication.

This is her PARTNER. On a very stressful day for her and he couldn’t reply to a single message while obviously already on his phone? I’m sorry. That’s crap.
Partners should be supportive. And if “mental health” keeps you from sending a quick message to your SO you probably shouldn’t be in a relationship. You can’t just check out whenever you want.
Honestly OP, he sounds immature and not like a good partner. If this is a one time thing, try talking it out when he responds. Maybe something is going on. If it’s a pattern of behavior then I’d reevaluate the relationship.

Phones can show you as online or active on social media without that being the case. I used to have overly clingy and obsessive girlfriend and she used to accuse me of ignoring her because Facebook showed me online when I was sleeping. We broke up over it.

Just wanted to throw in a little backstory. 
I start my new job today and my s.o. Knows I’ve been very anxious and we’ve discussed that I panic easily, plus a recent plan B pill has made me even more emotional, on top of the stress of starting a new job. So then I worried a lot last night, because we were supposed to do something to get my mind off of things and yet he couldn’t send me a 2 second message to tell me that he was too busy or reply to anything.

I don't notice because I don't care to check. Not to sound old or whatever but this is like a younger generation problem. I don't need my man up my ass at all times. If he's in the middle of something he will get to be eventually. I don't see that as a big deal. We all need a break to wind down or relax.

Just because someone is active on social media does not mean they are in the mental state to hold a conversation with someone through text/Messenger. Replying to comments doesn't take the same energy.
