Early labor, but no pain. What to expect?

Question

I am 39+4 and just had my first cervical check. OB said I am 60% effaced, 4-5cm dilated, and baby is at -2 station.
I've had lots of mucus - and some bloody show yesterday but nothing since. A few twinges of pain here and there but nothing significant.
Should I be expecting active labor to start in hours/days, or could it still be a week or more?
What was your experience?

Update. Still no contractions (at least none that I've noticed) but I just had a more abundant bloody show. Getting excited!

I had my second at 38+5 and I was 5.5 cm dilated and 80% effaced for weeks before having her but let me tell you… when she came, she came quick 😬 since I was already over halfway dilated 😂

Sounds like your body is pretty much ready just waiting for your cervix to become completely effaced, and I don’t think labour will last long after that if you’re already 4-5cm
