Family making me feel bad for eating...?

So I love food. I’ll start out with that. I love cooking and planning new meals, trying new ingredients. I’m not a big person, I’m average weight. 5’7”, about 165lbs. But I eat three meals a day and I look forward to them! 🥰🍉🌯🥗🍣🥘🍝🍅🥦🍌🍎

Anyway, my husband is not the same. He will go all day without eating anything and then eat a plate of whatever I make for dinner. His parents eat even less and will actually go multiple days without eating anything other than maybe some pretzels. They’re not anorexic, no, they get all their calories from beer 🍺 which they drink from morning until night. Functional alcoholics. Despite that of course being an issue, every time they visit they comment on me always wanting to eat.

We took my kids to the pumpkin patch this past weekend. It was an hour away and around lunch time when we got there. They had a food truck and I was like “well let’s wait in line to get some lunch for us and the kids.” His parents were like “why do you always think about food? We don’t want to wait in line. We want to go pick out pumpkins and ride the merry go round.” I told my husband “I need to eat lunch, if I don’t, I will get a headache.” Which is true. If I don’t eat or skip a meal I get a pretty bad migraine. He was like “I’ll stand in line for you and you can go play with the kids.”

So the line took FOREVER. About 30 minutes. His parents got all pissy about it and said “if Emily didn’t always have to eat then we could have enjoyed more time together.” I was the only one who ate along with my kids and they commented on it multiple times. Then that night I was like “what do you all want for dinner?” They started laughing and was like “are you thinking about food again Emily?” I was like “YES, normal people eat multiple times a day.” They got so offended they actually fucking left!

But like...? Am I the wrong one here? Am I too food focused? I’m sorry? It’s just a joy in my life and I can’t understand not eating all day.
