anyone have experience delivering a big baby?

So last Tuesday I had an ultrasound at 32 weeks. Baby girl is in the 95th percentile and they're predicting that she'll be over 10 lbs if I make it to my due date. I'll go back for an additional ultrasound in 3 weeks to see if she's still 95th percentile or above. If she is they're going to start talking early induction so that I can possibly avoid a c-section.
Honestly... I love the idea of being induced. Knowing exactly when she's coming would bring me so much peace lol. But this is my first baby and I honestly just don't know what any of it means or what to expect so I'm just interested in hearing about other people's experiences.

I was induced with my first and would never choose to be induced again.  Those ultrasounds can be way way off.  At 33 weeks, they told me that my son was measuring 3 weeks ahead.  He was born at 37+4 at a teeny 6 lbs 5 oz

I’m not sure what percentile my son was in but for my size (I was 107 pounds before pregnancy and I’m only 5 foot tall) he was a big baby, 8lbs1oz. It was an absolutely traumatizing birth and I honestly didn’t want more kids after (now I’m 10 1/2 weeks pregnant). HOWEVER I think if my doctor had intervened sooner it would have been better. I’d been pushing for 3 1/2 hours before he intervened to try anything to help me. Then it was an episiotomy, forceps, and vacuum. They all kept insisting he’d weigh no more than 6lbs or so, and they were very much wrong. 
I truthfully wouldn’t hold much truth in the weight the ultrasounds estimate. Cause it was way wrong with mine. 
But make sure to be prepared for a long birth, and ask that interventions done before you start getting really tired. 
My new doctor has agreed on a c section if it’s safe at that point and if I’m having too much trouble, otherwise she will intervene soon in the process to make this an easy and beautiful experience for me.

Their sizing annoys me. They may say you are measuring too big or too small (in my case) but it seems to me they are not as accurate as they like to believe. They worry parents with this too much.

These measurements can be wrong, like up to a pound or 2 in either direction. My son measured 7lbs at 36 weeks and he was born a week later at 6lb10oz. But I have read stories that go in the other direction too!

My son was in the 95th percentile.  He was also breech due to it. He was born at 36wks 7lbs via emergency c section. I was induced with my 1st, not going to sugarcoat it. That shit hurt. Doc told me it made the contractions 10x more painful. The c-section recovery sucked but my vagina was spared and I wasn't exhausted from pushing.

My sons measurements were predicted perfectly to the ounce. I would not bank on them being wrong. My mom was told I was 7 lb, ended up being 8 lb 14 and needed vacuum assistance to get me out. not trying to scare you at all. If your doctor feels like you are good to try an induction go for it! A c section is rough but I’m two weeks from my emergency c section and I feel almost 100%

I had a 9lb baby at home which isn't huge but he was a full pound bigger than my first. I tore less and had a quicker birth but that was because he was 2nd.

I wasn't told baby was going to be big made it to due date and was measuring 4 weeks more ( a lot of amniotic fluid), when baby was being born he had shoulder dystocia (shoulders got stuck) it was very scary for me even if it was a short time. I never want to get to that point again, I did everything I could to not have that with my 5th and will do the same this time around. I would rather be induced even tho it's not fun then have complications upon delivery.
Of course this may not be your case some can deliver 10 lbs babies and have no issue what so ever. This was my experience and personally wouldn't want the complications that come with having a big baby like my issue or c section especially since this is my last lol

I was induced with my first. Ended in a crash C and my recovery was horrific. It’s not like the movies- a c section recovery can take weeks if not months and the emotional trauma of being rushed to the OR and not seeing my son for 40 minutes while they stopped my bleeding and stitched me up took me months to recover from in therapy. Induction increases the likelihood of a C-section because they can’t force your cervix to dilate- I was in labor for 56 hours and only got to 8cm before baby was in distress. 
Those size measurements aren’t even remotely accurate a lot of the time. They told my mom I was going to be a 10lber and I was 3 weeks ahead because of my arm length. I wasn’t even 7lbs almost 3 weeks late and I had/have crazy long monkey arms and legs.
