So many appointments..

As

My son, born on the 29th of August, was born with sagittal craniosynostosis. He is such a happy baby and meeting all of his milestones, some even early! Hard to believe he wasn't born "perfect". We go to Halifax November first to have a consultation with a pediatric neurosurgeon to see what kind of surgery he will have to have. Any other momma's deal with this before? I'm nervous and never dealt with this or know anyone who has. Types of craniosynostosis are commonly missed, I'm very grateful it was found in the hospital before we were discharged after birth!

It's not extremely noticable because of his hair 😅 but you can see the sides of his head are very flat and his forehead bulges out a bit, the back of his head feels like it comes to a point, and you can feel a raised ridge in the top his head where the plates have fused.

There are some types of craniosynostosis that are genetic. But there's other physical characteristics with genetic craniosynostosis. My babe was just 1/2000 that was born this way.

This post find of feels all over the place 😅 constant information overload on-top of trying to just be a good mommy, wish us luck!
