14 month old tantrums- normal?

My son will be 14 months soon and recently started throwing fits whenever he doesn’t get his way. Is this normal? He’s my first.

Yep. Normal. Kids that age have all the emotions of an adult, including anger and frustration, but they don’t have to words to express what is happening or any idea how to process such emotions. It helps to start giving the child words for the emotions they are feeling. Like if he throws a tantrum because he can’t have a cookie, you could say “You really like the cookies and your frustrated that you can’t have any right now. We can have some after dinner” then redirect him to something else “let’s go read a book” etc.

Yes, normal...and buckle up! Those tantrums only get worse over the next year...my son turns two in December and oooo he tries my patience some days 🥴
