When did you let kid/baby stay away for the night from you for the first time?

My 2.5 year old has only slept away from me once and that was when I was in the hospital having baby #2. I'm fine with her staying with my mom but we've never had a reason to leave her for the night (other than when baby #2 was born).

Only twice with the grandparents so far and he’s almost 2. He did great! He is there once a week for childcare anyway during the day.

I only let my daughter stay away from me over night because I was in the hospital having her baby brother 😂 
It was one night and I felt awful. But a little back story for clarity. After I had my daughter in June of 2019 I went into heart failure and was separated from her for a whole week while I was in the ICU. I wasn’t sure I was coming home to her at all. So I was super duper helicopter mom 😂😂 now I’m a lot more laid back with her but she still hasn’t slept over anywhere else. My mother in law and my mom both came and stayed with her the night I had her baby brother. And again I was only gone one night. That being said you do whatever makes you feel comfortable as a parent. That’s your baby. No matter how old they get ❤️

Never. He’s 5. He will not be staying anywhere at night away from me. Neither will any of our future children, especially as infants. Absolutely not.

My oldest is almost 3 and a half and has never spent the night away from home. I’m not sure when I’ll be comfortable with it to be honest. My MILs house is over an hour away and that’s the only family we have around where she would potentially have a sleepover. That’s too far for me

11 months the first time I wasn’t with him, but he was with my husband. 18 months the first time he stayed with my parents solo (but we lived with them at the time, so it wasn’t majorly different and they put him to bed plenty of times before). He has never stayed overnight with anyone else. We have a few baby sitters we really like for date nights.

I unfortunately had to be hospitalized when my baby was just 2 months old and he couldn't come with me so that was my first time spending a few nights away from him. I didn't spend the night away from him again until he was one.
