Has anyone been diagnosed with gestational diabetes in the first trimester?

How did your pregnancy and delivery go? Was your baby born with any defects or issues ? 
I had my first prenatal appointment today and was told I have diabetes. Only test they did was the urine one at the clinic. 
That's all they told me tho. Not what type or what to do, nothing. So I googled 😩 and now I scared af

I’ve just been diagnosed too and have to take insulin. I’m 11 weeks pregnant but cut out all sugar, salt, caffeine, takeaways and fizzy drinks when I found out I was expecting. Now I have been diagnosed with GD I’m realising how much it’s other foods, I’m literally not touching your typical sugary things and haven’t now for months. I’m doing exactly what they say, they think baby will be fine as long as it gets under control now

Don’t be scared. I had diabetics with my baby girl. I was bad. Very bad. I had to take 5 insulins a day. And was still very high. Baby came out great. Nothing wrong at all. My diabetes is gone too after I gave birth. 
I mean they are supposed to tell u what to do. My situation was they sent me to dietitian specialist. Told me to monitor what I eat. It was still high. So I decided to take insulins to keep her safe. And was still watching everything that I ate according to the book they gave. BUT YOU NEED TO CALL UR OB TO TELL YOU WHAT THE NEXT STEP IS. u cannot just not know what to do. U have to call and find out
