If we were that close before they were married, I might back off a little for common courtesy; avoiding “hi” “hi” “what’s up” “nothing” conversations. However, I would still continue to text when I had something to say, like a funny story or plans etc. 
If I came in after they were married, yes I’d leave him alone besides the occasional “hope you’re doing well” “let’s double date” stuff.

My best friend of 30 years, has two kids, he’s been with his girl for like 10 years maybe, she loves me, I love the kids, we all get along great, I’m the kids fairy godmother, we talk all the time sometimes I talk to her more than I talk to him. My current partner we’ve been friends for over 20 years before we got together about a year and five months ago, it was completely professional, but we were friends, we’ve known each other a long time, we are business colleagues, and even before we got together we talk all the time. But absolutely a man and a woman can be friends. Most of my friends are male. I have very few female friends, and whether they like me or not, they know I’m not after their man, they have nothing to worry about, I have zero desire to be with my best friend, on the contrary where I have to be in the middle of their fights, it makes me glad I never got with him. And my current partner before a year and four months ago, we talked all the time, we crack jokes, we have the same sense of humor, most of my lawyers who are my clients or business associates, have a great relationship. We bullshit and talk and joke and send Memes back-and-forth, has nothing to do with anything sexual that is going on between us. It’s one thing if there’s something going on, it’s another thing if they don’t have good intentions, my best friend and me, we are family, he introduces me that his cousin to people people say is this your wife to him and I and of course I say no. Sometimes we joke around and he says yes, I’d be lucky to have her, and I smile of course, but there’s nothing ever going on with us, we are best friends, I helped raise him and his brother, there is no intention of him and I ever been together, although we joke around his girl and I that we are sister wives, because she says that I’m the only person she would trust to be with her kids if she died, and to tend to his needs, wink wink. But now I have no desire to be with him that way. She knows I’m not after her man. And I have zero desire to be with him. Oh my guy friends I called him buddy and dude, they know they are in the friend zone and it’s never going anywhere. We bullshit, we joke around, we swap Memes, and jokes, most of my guy friends have girlfriends etc. I know them, some of them I don’t know because it’s new, but I have zero intention of being with any of them, none of their girls have to worry about me. I’m not competition, I’m not trying to steal her man, but unfortunately that’s usually how most of them look at me when they first meet me. But they realize there’s nothing to be worried about with me. And if their guy wanted me, tell them to get the fuck out, cause I know I don’t want them like that. However when my best friend got with his girl 10 years ago, I backed off in the beginning, because she thought I was competition, And I gave them their space, but she realized that it’s not like that. He’s been my best friend for over 30 years, has clearly gone through girlfriends, most of them didn’t like me, but they got used to me eventually. They know I’m not going anywhere and they had to get over it. Because were family. If he needs money, he calls me, every holiday I take presents to the kids, I feed them, whatever it may be.￼
