First year of marriage-hardest or easiest year of marriage?

Just curious! 
I’ve heard a couple people say the first years is considered the honeymoon stage. But then I’ve also heard, the first year is the hardest. 
I’ll be the first to admit, the first year of marriage for me has been soooo tough. I feel like things are just really coming out in the open and I’m not sure how I didn’t notice them until now. Lol or maybe I didn’t care till now? Idk. Lol would love to hear your guys experiences!

The first year is the hardest because you are adjusting to living together, you are adjusting to how to manage money, you are adjusting to spending habits, you were adjusting to cleanliness or lack there of, you are realizing either how lazy your partner is, or not putting enough effort in, not making the time for the relationship, and so many other things, allowing in-laws to interfere, or control the relationship, you are learning how people deal with lack of money, stress, anxiety, mental health issues, you have to remember that everyone put on their best face in the beginning. Especially when you change from being an independent person to being a stay at home mother, you see people‘s true colors come out because they don’t value you for all that you do when you are a stay at home mother, having to ask for money, especially is difficult for women have been independent all their life, you see how they live, if they allow dishes to pile up in the sink or laundry to go on done or dishes to be left all over the place and you having to clean up after them, you realize you don’t wanna be their mother, and you realize you may not want to have kids because you’re going to be raising those children on your own because they do not actively participate, or would rather spend time with her friends or Whatever other issues arise.

First year was hardest for us I think. Still adjusting to living together, transitioning out of the honeymoon phase, all the fights. It takes a bit to get used to it and completely used to all your partners quirks and bad habits (everyone has them!). Also all the little problems that come up where you need to find a compromise. We also bought a house which was very very stressful. Everything is good now though and we’re on year 2

I guess it depends on the couple.  My husband and I jumped into things pretty quickly and after the deed was done i remember thinking to myself what the hell did I just do?  But we both have similar likes, dislikes and boundaries. He asked me to be his gf 2 weeks after meeting me. Then a year and 3 months after that we got married (we've been together for 4 years) had our first baby in March and I ayo feel like I'm in the honeymoon phase.  Yes we do have disagreements but we always sit down and talk it out and come to a compromise. One thing we also agreed to before we got married was to never divorce and treat each other right

I've been married 11 months and it's really no different to before. We already lived together. We were planning on getting married sooner but the pandemic got in the way. I guess it depends on the couple and the situation. I imagine if it's your first time living with the person or if the relationship changed after marriage it would be much harder.

3, 7, and 11 are the hardest! Then I’ve heard it’s pretty hard after the kids move out.

The first year wasn’t hard for us. Haha it was like the honeymoon phase all over again! It was great!

Was exactly the same  as dating for us. We had been together a few years and had already lived together for a few so the only difference was we signed the marriage license andnI got better insurance. Everything else stayed exactly the same though. While being super happy the first while is fine makensire you know life happens and can get harder. And if the person you married "showed their true colors" you weren't floating that person, you dated their representative and married the real person which sucks. But ua ours wasn't better or worse or easier or harder...was just another year together now with tax benefits.

Definitely depends
Some people live with their spouse before they're married so they're already used to that, others have to get use to it during that first year.
Some couples will go through some hard times from things outside the marriage (maybe the loss of a loved one, loss of job, a medical emergency, severe stress from a new job position, etc) that will bring some added struggle to the relationship and cause the first year to be difficult, while others don't encounter any major life events that first year. 
Some people may have higher expectations for a magical fairy tale first year so they end up being disappointed and having a mad year, while others are the opposite and just unintentionally ignore any issue because they just want to stay in that fairytale/honeymoon. 
Some people just genuinely have a bad year and some genuinely have a good year. Either way isn't necessarily a prediction of how the following years will be. Its ok to experience either type of first year as long as at the end of that year you still love eachother and want to have many more years together ❤
