Sickle Cell Anemia

Any parents who have children with this? I just got a student recently with sickle cell, and I wanted to reach out to see if there’s anything you wish your child’s teacher knew. Are there any researches/journals/articles I should look at? I am unfamiliar with sickle cell and other than Google, I don’t have much to go by. I’m in contact with the parent, but she doesn’t know me since he just started, so I figured I’d start here.
