I gave birth 18 months ago. I finally want to post on here.

It was my second child and terrified of no epidural. It was all I cared about because I did not want pain. 1st baby I had 0 pain after epidural.

2nd baby….came in when told, first was told I was dehydrated, they did not think I was in labor. 1.5 hours later they were moving me out of triage and no epidural was possible. I pushed less than 5 minutes. They did not have time to put an IV in my arm before my son was born.

I pushed him out very fast to get out of the pain. Afterwards all the nurses said I was their hero for not having an epidural. I did NOT want to hear that. I was so upset that I didn’t get it.

18 months later…I’m glad I experienced both ways. While the first one was easier. 2nd recovery was much faster, and I will never forget the midwife who helped me get through it. First baby, I didn’t really even notice them.
