First xmas married in our new home

Husband told me today he’s not buying any gifts and I’m cool with it even though we talked about how exciting it’s gonna be giving each other gifts for our first year together. Said he will give me a $250 gift card and buy himself and me boots and I can keep the rest of the money. I’m not one to be ungrateful and I didn’t say anything but it just felt so cheap and tacky to say to me. He banks a lot of money and this is a gift card he’s being gifted by someone else. I’m not trying to sound ungrateful but if you wanna buy boots then just say that’s the gift for me 😂 not sure what’s gotten into him but I was rlly looking forward to getting him nice things and have them open it. I’m not annoyed about his idea but the delivery of it was just not my taste. I don’t care about fancy things of being over the top. It’s just a nice gesture and something that I thought would be fun. What do you think?
