Breastfeeding help!!
My baby is almost 5 months old and for the past month he’s become very fussy if he does not get a quick enough letdown while nursing. He’ll suck for about 10 seconds then scream and cry if it doesn’t come. It’s difficult to get him to nurse long enough after that to trigger it and I don’t know what to do at this point. If I keep trying it’ll usually happen (eventually) but it’s very frustrating to deal with this in the middle of the night, even when my breasts are very full. Once he gets it he’s fine and seems content after.
I’ve tried hand expressing into his mouth, breast compression, pumping to get the letdown then latching him on. It’s exhausting. I was hoping this was a phase, but here we are a month later. It started just before I went back to work and now that he’s on bottles that probably doesn’t help anything.
If anyone has other suggestions or has had a similar experience please let me know!!
