Pregnancy appointment

I just found out I’m pregnant, and going by my last period I’m about 5 weeks 3 days. I called my OB to get an appointment and they aren’t seeing me until mid December. At that point I’ll be like 10 weeks. Is this normal for them to see me so late? For my first pregnancy they got me in within a few days around this same time of 5 weeks pregnant. I don’t have any morning sickness yet like I did with my first so I’m nervous and just want to be checked to make sure everything is ok

Edit to add: I don’t mean an ultrasound right now, I know that comes later. This is just for my actual first appointment like to confirm pregnancy other than my own at-home test, and to make sure HCG is rising etc.
