Dead beat Father

I had my son 3 weeks ago today. His Father lives 1500 miles away and hasn’t helped with anything but insists he wants his son in his life. There’s a big piece of me that still loves him. I’ve known him for 20 years and we reconnected last year and he made me feel on top of the world. His parents control his whole life. He’s 40 years old and they abused their titles. His stepfather is a judge and his mother works for dcf or DSS as a guardian at litem and they treat me and my son poorly. I fear if I bring my son to the state his father lives in that they will try a pull a fast on on me over my child which they never reached out to me during my pregnancy or now that he’s here. He’s been pretty much abandoned from that side of the family. His Father did give me $50 last week but complained about it because his cell phone was going to be shut off. What do I do? What should I do? I need some advice or guidance on what I should make of this situation. How can he adopt a child that’s not biologically his and neglect his own biological son? Ugh. I’m so lost.
