Isla or Ila?

I love love LOVE the “isla” spelling, but I’m afraid it’ll be obnoxious for my child having people mispronounce it all of her life 🥲😂

I would pronounce Ila as ill-ah. Not eye-la like Isla is pronounced.

Go with Isla if that’s the spelling you love. I think the name is pretty common now to where people know how to say it. Ila is pretty too, but even that will get mispronounced.

My daughter's name is Isla Faye (my hubby has Scottish & Irish heritage). Most people pronounce it correctly, as it is an up and coming name. Every now and then it gets pronounced as IS lah. But it doesn't bother me to correct them and I surely don't think it'll bother her when she's older either.

She’d definitely have more pronunciation troubles with Ila than with Isla.
In her generation, Isla will not be unusual, so it won’t be hard for people to pronounce. 
I would never have guessed you wanted Ila to be pronounced like Isla though. 
Some alternate options that would work a lot better than Ila if you don’t like Isla: Iyla, Eila.
