Cause he's a kid. He's literally 11 in the first book and only 17 in the last. Besides that though, it's probably one of the things that can't be fixed or done by magic. I think it's called Ganthum's law or something. Basically things magic can't do, like make food out of thin air, regrow a body part, or bring people back to life.

I believe I read somewhere that Rowling said eye sight is not something a witch or wizard could fix with magic.

Considering Hermione could magically get her teeth corrected in the 4th book. Correcting Harry’s vision shouldn’t have been an issue. So it is interesting indeed!!! 🤔😂

Arguably that would be an advanced spell for a healer and there are probably risks associated with it.  Harry Potter wouldn’t want to possibly end up blind
