I have a normal day job and a full time student, but I recently went back to my old retail job to work one night a week to close M-Th since they are so desperate for employees. I am an easy candidate since I already know everything and used to train new employees. I had repeatedly said if this won’t work out then it won’t hurt my feelings to not hire me because I understand it’s a business. I know what I asked for is unheard of in retail. My manager agreed. In the past, I always bent over backwards for employers. My manager was putting me on for three days and so I had told her each week only two days I could be available. Three is too much. It’s been a few weeks and I had told her last week that three days is too much in a casual conversation when she asked me if I could work more. So this week I did not send specific days since I thought it was clear that I only wanted two and I was trying to be kind in giving her flexibility of the days. She put me on for three. Am I wrong to ask for only two since I didn’t directly state I only wanted two day?
