How to get an overly tired newborn to sleep!?

My baby girl is 3 months now and we're having a hard time forming good sleep habits. 😩 Any tips for when she's way past her wake window and refusing to go to sleep??

Só today I finally took my husbands advice and put my baby who has refused to nap in my room by herself after I fed her and changed her diaper. Her and my 2 year old were crying basically all day long. I turned off the light and turned on the sound machine and set a 30 minute timer because I just couldn’t take the noise anymore. After 15 mins she fell asleep for 2 hours! It was awesome lol

Since my girl turned 3 months, I’ve come to realize that she is a baby that likes to stay awake throughout the day. She takes maybe 3 or 4 thirty minute naps throughout the day and if she does to bed around 6pm, she sleeps throughout the whole night but if she waits until 8 or 9, she wakes up throughout the night. We try to keep her awake in the evening since my husband doesn’t get home from work until 7. She’s weird and it’s a new routine so I feel you.

I started to only nap her in her bed. She gets better sleep. No swing etc. play hard when she’s awake. When she wakes it’s diaper, bottle, tummy and play mat time and then I entertain her a bit then she’s up an hour or so then sleeps 45 minutes then repeat.

I’m trying to put my little guy on a schedule and so far it’s been difficult because of the constant changes newborns for through. Remember at 3 months they go through another growth spurt and Leap 3… which both contribute to sleep and feeding changes.

If it’s for naps during daytime I have put mine in a carrier and wear her. She normally falls asleep quickly! For night time- dark room and offer a lot of food
