Lower abdominal pain during sex?

Last night me and my SO had sex, same position as normal, and I got sharp lower right abdominal cramp and it wouldn’t stop so neither one of us finished.

It was down by my hip bone.

The cramp you get when you drink a lot of water and then immediately run after. It was like that cramp.

My period is in 8 days, I’m on BC patch, & we’ve been doing it here alot lately but last night was horrible. Any ideas on what it could have been? Or what was hurting?
