How should I proceed?

My daughters dad and I broke up awhile ago and we still live together . We have messed around a few times but a month or so ago I stopped completely doing anything. However I still cook for him and clean and buy him things when I am out . He tells me he wants to get himself together and be better for me so we can be together but I’m confused as to why every chance he gets he lets people know he is single. I was under the impression we are going through things and trying to work things out individually before we can be in a relationship together again. I have my own personal issues as well. I watched him on Facebook make a joke when someone said check on your friends in a relationship and his response was I’m looking for a girlfriend. He does nothing for me and I do everything . Today I think mentally I’ve had enough and since he wants to be single everything that comes with being a relationship I’m stopping. I know I’m not wrong but some encouraging words to help me understand a man only does what you allow. I have plenty of men who are interested in me but I truthfully don’t like anyone .
