Rolling head side-to-side before sleep--normal?

We struggled with bedtime tonight (toddler hijinks 😩), and by the time we were getting the newborn settled, he was overtired and overstimulated.

He's 3 months, so I tried to nurse him to get him settled-- he screamed. Tried to rock him, he screamed. I put him in the bassinet in the dark with white noise, and he started rolling his head side-to-side. Since he was calmer and not screaming without me intervening, I let him do his thing.

After about 10 minutes of rolling his head, he was asleep. Is this a normal early self-soothing thing? I didn't see this with my first kiddo, so I don't know.
