What are the ages between your 1st and second?

Hi all so i currently have a 2.5 year old little girl and ive just found out im pregnant again!
What are the age gaps with yours? My little girl wont even let me near a child at the moment shes very terrirotial over her mummy and daddy and im abit worried she will be just 3 when baby is born (due in aug) and she will start pre school in sept. Im just worried shes going to hate the new baby and feeling a little guilty that she wont have out 100% full attention please share your stories 👣👣

I got pregnant 4 months PP. My son thought my daughter was a stuffed animal when she got home and I think it took him a while to understand she was here to stay lol. It was VERY tough to transition from 1-2 and I developed PPD. Now my son is 2 and my daughter is 1 and they’re the best of friends. They copy each other, laugh, play, fight and make up. My mental health is taking a turn for the better. My communication with their dad is much better. It definitely was NOT instant. 
My best advice is always remember to give yourself grace and if you’re aiming for perfection, you’ll fall short every time. I’m sure because your daughter is going to be older and surrounded by other kids when she starts school that she may even be more of a help than you think. I still remember nights when my daughter would be trying to sleep and my son had watched my pat her back that he would pat her back and tell her “shhh” or put her pacifier back in her mouth if it came out. Now my baby girl even takes her big brothers spoon and feeds him 😂 It takes time, but eventually you’ll develop a routine and always remember it’s ok to have your moments! Congratulations! I can’t picture life without these two now.

My firstborn just turned three a few weeks ago. I am due with his brother in two months, so there will be just over a three year age gap. I wanted it to be closer to two years but it didn’t work out that way. He just switched from daycare two days a week to 3 year old preschool two days a week, so his social skills are good and he doesn’t have problems with other kids, so that’s helpful, and at least we got that transition out of the way before the baby comes so that it’s not a lot of changes all at once. 
I don’t think my son quite understands what is happening, but he knows he’s having a baby brother, and he knows it’s in mommy’s tummy right now. I let him feel the baby move, but again, I’m not sure if he really understands because sometimes he says, “feel that???” When the baby isn’t moving 🤣 The other night he was eating supper and he said, “Baby brother moving!” I asked him where, and he held his stomach and said, “right here, in my tummy!” 😂 I think that’s just Mac & cheese bud, but okay. 
I plan on getting my son a baby doll like this for Christmas

This way we can work on being gentle with babies, but also helping and taking care of the baby, so that hopefully he understands a little better when we bring home his brother. Also hoping that if he gets jealous while I’m feeding the new baby, he can feed this baby just like me and that he will be content with that until he can have a turn with the new baby.

I'm in that situation. Baby boy was born 4 weeks ago. My oldest just turned 3 when he was born. I communicated with her the whole pregnancy. Where is baby? Are you going to play with baby? Are you going to be best Friends? So by the time he was here she understood.  I also got her a toy she wanted and said it was from baby brother and a big sister book from target 
She has done great at adjusting and now she is less dependent on me and more on daddy since I'm occupied with baby right now.  I feel like a newborn and 3 was the perfect age gap for me. She helps out allot to with getting things for me if I'm unable to get up and get it. Congratulations!

When my second was born, my first was 21 months. When my third was born, my first was 3.5 and my second was 21 months. 
Each of them had a different reaction to becoming a big brother. 
My eldest was stoked. He loved his baby brother and wanted to help with everything. He had the same reaction to the youngest one as well.
My middle one did not care in the slightest about the youngest. He wasn't jealous or anything. Never showed any negative reaction to the baby at all. He just did not have any kind of interest in him either. But it is also worth mentioning that he has autism and doesn't have an interest in any other children or babies, not just his baby brother. 
They're 5, 3, and 18 months now. My eldest is still very loving toward and protective of both of his brothers. Hands them their comfort objects when they are upset (pacifier and security blanket.) When he asks for a snack or something, he always tells me to get one for his brothers too. When he gets rewarded for a chore or something, he asks if his brothers can have the same reward even though he was the only one who did the chore. He is their biggest cheerleader too. He was so excited for them when they learned to stand/crawl/walk. Had to notify me every time they did so for like months. Likes to teach them how to do puzzled and things. He's just a very good, caring brother. 
My middle one thinks his older brother is hilarious. Everything big bro does gets a big hearty laugh from him. He's finally started playing with him, just chase and wrestling and that kind of thing. Still doesn't really acknowledge baby bro too much yet since he can't wrestle. 
My youngest follows the middle one everywhere despite the middle one hardly paying him any mind. They are partners in crime. He knows middle bro can do things he can't (like opening the bathroom door and unlatching the fridge childproof lock 😒) so if middle bro is being mischievous, little bro is right with him.

I just had my second baby, a boy, 3 weeks ago. My little girl is 2 and a half now and she adores him. We were pretty worried too, even though she’s pretty independent, and I had severe mom guilt. I think it’s normal to feel this way but what helped me was thinking about how much I love my own brothers. I would’ve hated being an only child and I don’t even have memories from before maybe 4 years old. My baby and your baby won’t even remember a time they didn’t have a built in best friend in the family. 🙂
