Can I ask if anyone's Littles are sitting up yet?

My son just turned 6 months and he's not sitting up yet, he has the strength but not the balance/confidence. My sister in law always post about how advanced her babies are and it's just got me a little worried. Our doc gave us a referral to baby net/Early interventionalist just in case. He hit all his other mile stones a little early and my daughter was right on time so we never had any potential delays before. But I'm curious where other real babies his age are with this.

My son turns 6 months on the 20th and won't even try to sit up he shows he wants to but once we try to help him sit he refuses he rather grab his feet and lay down or fall forward on his tummy even tho he won't roll to his tummy yet

We're the same, 6 months and doc used the literal words "has the strength just needs the balance" and expects her to be sitting on her own within the next month.

I wouldn’t be concerned till 7 months and wouldn’t worry till 8 months. There are so many things to learn and so many of them can be delayed with zero problems in the long term!
If you want to help baby sit, tummy time and assistance practice rolling, pulling their feet toward their mouth and rocking side to side is best. It helps them develop their muscles and explore balance.
You can find lots of fun baby exercises to do for specific skills and in general by age on YouTube, Instagram, and Google.
You can also put pillows or a boppy around baby to prop them up when they sit and if they fall sideways or backwards they are safe, but they’ll learn better/more naturally on their own without pillows, it is important they learn how to position their hands and elbows as they fall … and the only way to learn is to fall.

My first born didn’t sit up unassisted until 9 months old and his doctor was never worried. My current baby is sitting up assisted right now.
Don’t compare babies too much. They all reach milestones at different ranges.Try not to let her “bragging” upset you.

My dude definitely has the strength for it, but is just…not interested? Like he’d much prefer to be rolling around messing with stuff. Also he has an absolutely massive head, which has to be exhausting to hold up 😂
I’m not worried, tho I probably would have been if it was my first, bc I stressed way more about her development. But now I know there’s a wide range for what is considered normal, and most babies are just on their own schedule.

My boy can’t sit unassisted but is crawling 🙈 all babies focus on different things, most definitely would not considered it delayed at this stage.. shocked you were even able to get a referral at this stage

My first Lo didn’t sit up on her own until 7 months. My son is 5.5 months and has the strength to sit, but he’s just not ready yet. It’ll still be a little while before he sits completely on his own

Nope he can’t. Will be a while before he can. Pretty sure I just have a lazy baby. He has yet to go to an appointment with meeting all his milestones. He won’t meet at least 4 at his 6 month appointment

My daughter can sit up unassisted for like 10-15 minutes, and once she stops paying attention to wants interesting her she goes down like a sack of potatoes 😂 I’m not sure if that counts.

My son is now 6.5 months old and I’d say just this last week or so he started to sit independently. Naturally at his 6 month check up he also sat independently but I know he wasn’t that stable. He hated sitting but I just worked at it and literally within a week there was a huge improvement. He now loves sitting and will sit for almost an hour playing. Just work away at it. Your baby will do it when they are ready :) also try not to compare to other babies. I know a baby who was sitting independently at 4 months but hated tummy time. All babies are different:)
