Am I the only person who absolutely despises the word Simp?

I see people everywhere on the internet throw around the word simp and I honestly hate that word. It is often thrown around by incels to insult good men who love their wives and girlfriends. I also see it used to describe any man who respects women and is kind to them. I remeber my abusive ex boyfriend would always call men who were kind to their girl friends simps. He was physically and emotinally abusive to me and basically thought that any man who did not abuse his gf was a simp. It bothers me that people my age use that word so much. (I’m gen z by the way.)
