Courthouse wedding

Hi, so I thought I'd ask here to get a general idea first before I call, because I'm soooo clueless. I don't have a mom to ask & my stepmom makes me feel even more clueless lol. So my SO & I are thinking of doing a courthouse wedding in January, we don't have any birthdays or anything going on, so to us it would be a month we could celebrate just us. (we have six children). I was thinking of just wearing casual clothes for the court wedding, but I want pictures (hopefully in the snow) so I want to get a dress to get pictures in but don't want to spend thousands. I found a few I liked on David's bridal page that are on sale. One is like $749. I was thinking of checking out like vintage shops, but closest ones to me are over an hour away. I've checked fb market place & nothing that I love unfortunately. I really wanted a fall wedding but now I'm obsessed with the thought of snow photos & he's on board too. I guess my questions are: should I just not get a dress? what about Amazon or etsy? anybody ever buy from there??
