is anyone else not attached to their pregnancy?

i don’t know why i feel this way. of course i’m excited but it doesn’t feel real at all and i just am not attached to the baby at all because it doesn’t feel like anything is in there. i’m a first time mom and i’m 20 weeks.

I think that’s normal mama! Everyone “connects” in different ways. With my first pregnancy I never really had that strong deep connection like where I was singing to her and talking to her in my tummy. I didn’t feel some strong magical feeling. I knew she was in there, I prepared for her to come, I took care of myself and went to appointments but that was really it. Once she was born the bond was unreal though!
This pregnancy I’m extremely high risk and we still don’t even know if the little guy will make it in the end. I’m not connecting again but I feel this time it’s more of me mentally protecting myself.

I’m with you on this! 
I have had 2 miscarriages this year, currently 20W + 3 and it’s like I refuse to believe it’s happening. I’m terrified something is wrong, or will go wrong as soon as I start to enjoy this pregnancy. I also haven’t felt baby move yet, which contributes to this fear. 
I wish I had some advice, but I’m just here to say you’re definitely not alone, and everyone processes things differently. I wish you all the best!

I can understand the unreal part. My man and I were together only 3 months when I found out I was already 10 weeks so it happen real fast. I however do love the baby and talk to him and rub my tummy but ofc he isn't out yet so it's hard just like with everything a connection has to be made. You are still going and didn't kill the baby so don't beat yourself up because you aren't feeling it 100%. I do love when he kicks but at times it's also annoying as he's getting stronger.

I was so attached to my first I talked to her constantly I played piano music for her EVERY-NIGHT… not this baby. I’ve been feeling movement constantly since 13-14 weeks and I’m just like meh whatever. I don’t talk to him I don’t play music. I’m hoping as I get bigger things will get better. When I go my appts the midwives seem so excited and happy and I’m just there like 😐 let’s speed this up lol

I've been feeling this way too.. this is my second.. im hoping that after we find out the gender and give baby a name, I will feel more connected with it! Can you feel baby move? Do you know gender? Do you have a name picked out? It may sound silly but do you talk to baby? That may help..
