Carseat covers?

Hey mommas! I’m trying to figure out if I want a carseat cover of some sort and if so, what I want. I live in Texas where it’s pretty warm most of the months so I’m afraid of roasting my poor baby but love the idea of having a cover over the carseat to keep germs, noise, and light away. Tell me… If you had/have a carseat cover, what kind did you use? And is it worth it?

I would just put a light muslin receiving blanket draped over the top when they were newborns. Take it off in the car. I also live where it’s hot and didn’t want anything restricting air flow.

Car seat covers are only for when car seat is being transferred to and from the car. Not to be used while installed in the car. 
As far as which one, the stretchy one FOR SURE!!! I used a car seat canopy with my first and HATED it. Always blew off in the wind and would come off the arm. The stretchy one stayed out!!!

Make sure not to leave the cover on for long periods of time and never in the car. I mostly just used it to keep rain/snow off my baby when moving from car to inside.

I loved loved  loved my stretchy one. Kept people from touching the baby or coming near. I just would leave it open anytime in the car .. or pull it down a little in stores. To make sure there was air flow .. a little crack on top. But they are pretty thin. We also lived in Texas.

I had a stretchy one that I could also use for breastfeeding. Highly recommend. I also got a little fan that attached to the car seat for my second who was born in the heat of the summer.

I hear a canopy one with my first 2 and I liked. I can't find it with my third and I don't really miss it

You’re never supposed to attach anything to the seat so you’re not supposed to use a blanket/cover like this. 
From a safety standpoint anyway
