Is my 7 month old boy too small for his age ?

My son is 18 inches long but after some google searches as a ftm I’m afraid he’s shorter than what was written. It said the average for boys was 27 in

What was his length at birth? How much did he weigh at birth and what is his weight now? Is he breastfed or formula fed?

It's probably normal assuming the pediatrician isn't worried about it. My kid started growing an inch a month at a year old and that helped her. Also, the average baby is huge. It sounds like you're probably taking care of a petite kid like me. I try not to think about what's average because for my kid the growth curve is a better way to track growth. Let alone kids can randomly have huge growthspurts.

My baby boy was 20 in when he was born and by 7 months he was 27.5 in so I do believe your baby is growing at a slower pace. But you never know he might hit a growth spurt later on.

My baby girl was born 19 inches long and was 21 inches  at her 2 month appointment so yes your baby is growing on the smaller range. Maybe he just wont be that tall? Im sure the dr would tell u if they were concerned.

My kiddo was 21.5 inches at birth. She's tall though. My oldest was born at 21 inches. So yes, by 7 months, they were much taller than 18 inches.

everyone that answered “yes” has no basic understanding of child growth/development. 🙄
every child is different, so their size and weight is gonna go off of what they were at at birth. my son was a late-term premie, and on the growth scale is usually on the <1 to 3% range. but we’re not concerned bc for HIS PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT he is growing and gaining at the proper rate. it all depends on their own measurements. as long as their head isn’t growing bigger/faster than the rest of their body (this is a sign they are starving bc the body will save the brain naturally). 
everyone will tell u it’s “wrong” bc of their own children and experiences, but as long as ur baby is happy and healthy and ur dr isn’t concerned everything is fine. some kids are just sml, everyone is unique.

Is he sticking to his growth curve? All three of my kids were longer than that at birth, but if he was a short baby at birth then it might be perfectly normal
