Did I hurt baby?

Question

I was put on amoxicillin for fluid build up in my sinuses and lungs. After a couple days I started getting major stomach pains. I stopped taking the medicine and finally after 3 days the pain had died down.  I’m around 16 weeks pregnant,  could I have hurt the baby?
Update: both my kids are allergic to amoxicillin! Didn't realize I had to ask the question can an unborn child be allergic to a medication?!
Oh! And I did call my doctor twice! Got told she'd call me back both times and she didn't so thanks for the fucken judgement!

Absoulutely never stop antibiotics yourself without discussing with a doctor about it.
Now you most likely made it worse, because if that bacteria is still there it is resistent to the same antibiotics now and next time that one doesn't work, you already need stronger ones.

And Amoxicilin is safe to take during pregnancy so it shouldn't have any effects on your baby.

Like the other person said, you should never interrupt antibiotics or treatments in general without asking your doctor first. If you have side effects or feel unwell, your doctor will make the decision on whether you stop or not. You should call and ask what to do since it's very possible it didn't have time to fix the problem.

As others said, never stop an antibiotic course without your doctor’s permission or knowledge. If it truly was a bacterial infection, you killed off some but not all of it. Now whatever is left will be resistant to amoxicillin and possibly hard to control. Hopefully it was just viral. But you need to call your doctor and get further directions.
Behavior like this and taking antibiotics irresponsibly and incorrectly is why some countries (and we eventually) have the super infections that no antibiotic will touch. People demand antibiotics for non-bacterial infections or take them wrong when they do get them prescribed. Creates these infections nobody can treat and we spread it around. So, no, you didn’t hurt your baby, but stuff like this hurts everyone in a way. Call your doctor before making medical decisions with zero knowledge.
