Any mamas from Ontario?!?

Has anyone from Ontario been given the NIPT testing with the bloodwork and gender? Last pregnancy they only did the ultrasound but I see so many from the states that get both.

I’m from Ontario! This is baby #2 and we’ve done the harmony NIPT with both pregnancies now because my husband is adopted so the doctor has recommended. They skipped my 12 week ultrasound both times since the harmony covers off what they look for and it’s more accurate. I still had a dating ultrasound around 9 weeks though and will go for my anatomy scan around 20.

From Ontario🙋🏻‍♀️... never done NIPT. My OB says they only refer you if your genetics testing comes abnormal so they do more testing. I decided to do a private ultrasound to find out the gender earlier at 16 weeks, couldn't wait till 20 weeks tbh😅

from Ontario here. Haven't done the NIPT test since it's not covered by insurance unless you're over 40. cross my fingers and hope everything comes back normal with my NT scan during my 12 weeks.

Most of us in the states get the NIPT if over 30 or by choice (usually have to pay out of pocket if not medically necessary, but not always). I’ve been offered it with all 3 pregnancies now but I didn’t do it because insurance won’t cover since I am under 30
