I live in a state where food industry workers are paid minimum wage, just like grocery store workers, clinic staff, Car-Wash people, etc

I just hate the obligatory extra payment for food/services IM ALREADY PAYING FOR. Especially when so many other workers don’t get tips.

And even if I lived in a state that didn’t pay minimum wage, I feel like it’s the businesses responsibility to make sure their employees are receiving at least min wage, not the customer. I’d much prefer to tip as an extra, if someone really went above & beyond.

Am I a bad person? I haven’t been able to shake this thought process for years, though I’ve wanted to at least for the sake of what society seems to so firmly believe
