If you had to choose between scheduled c section or scheduled induction, what would you pick and why?

Thanks!! I'm dealing with some complications and may be delivering early. Interested in opinions and experiences with both non-emergent induction and c section.

I had a planned induction with my first at 39 weeks and it was honestly perfect. Checked in at 2am and had her by 1pm the same day. Got an epidural, progressed smoothly and went home the next day.

I had an induction with my last pregnancy. Unfortunately I did not progress at all after 5 days of trying every method. Even after they broke my waters and had me on pitocin I only got to 2 cm dilated. It ended in an emergency c-section and therefore this time I have optioned for an elective c-section. If you have never been induced before you dont know how your body will react to it, maybe you will progress and be able to have a vaginal birth. Recovering from a c-section is hard considering it is a major operation, so I would advice you to at least try the induction and worst case you will have an emergency c-section. Just be mentally prepared in case.

I’d been trying hard to get my breech baby to turn head down because I’d really like to avoid a csection. For me it’s the fear of the recovery afterwards so I’d rather be induced and take a potentially more painful labour than a naturally starting labour (short term) than choose a csection knowing the recovery will be harder, but I do have a 2 year old at home so my attitude first time around might have been different knowing I didn’t have a little one at home already. 
I was birth partner to my sisters 4th csection last year and even though it was all scheduled / planned something about the anticipation of it all made me feel even more unsure about a csection, think it’s just a nerves thing for me everything was calm and relaxed but that made me feel on edge (even as birth partner 🤣)
Obviously if csection is what’s best for baby for whatever reason I’ll do it, and if emergency C-section then of course it is what it is. But other than that I have a feeling I’ll be induced again as It looks as though baby is head down but measuring pretty big.

My natural birth was traumatic and my induction was so lovely. I have never had a c-section, but I can tell you, induction can vary from person to person, and it isn't all bad. Ma y people have great induction stories.

I had an induction with my first and it was not bad at all. I did however get the epidural as soon as I got to the room. I was not uncomfortable and my water broke by itself a after 15 hours.. I pushed 4 times and gave birth 20 min after my water broke. This time around I am having a c section due to my baby being breeched and I am freaking about about the surgery and the aftermath 😩 so I would rather get the induction with epidural right away 😂

I had a surprise C-section with my son last year and while I had a great recovery, I didn’t plan on having one at all. I was scheduled to be induced but it turned into a C-section (the two were unrelated). The first few days of recovery were rough but thankfully after a few days home I was ok. I have a scheduled C-section in a few weeks for baby #2 and I’m super nervous, as I have no idea how this recovery will go bc I have a 1 year old at home. I guess it’s what you decide but a C-section is a major surgery and shouldn’t be taken lightly. I’d try to avoid it as much as possible if you can

I have never had a c section, but Iam going to guess a major abdominal surgery is a much more difficult recovery than a vaginal birth. I have been induced and while it wasn't exactly a good experience for me (everyone has a different experience) I would chose that again over having a c section if the induction was a safe option.
