How to deal with people not taking me seriously?

So I’m 30 and I’ve been in my field for about 5 years or so. I’m good at my job, upper leadership (VPs and such) have given me awards and compliments. However my immediate supervisor treats me like I’m an idiot. Even when he knows he’s wrong about something he will twist my words to make it sound like I just have no idea what I’m talking about. I’ve also found since he’s been doing this some of my work colleagues have started just brushing me off and not really taking me seriously when it comes to projects or brainstorming sessions.

Along with this, when I look back at previous jobs and even friendships/relationships I notice I’m often not taken seriously or not even listened to, treated like a joke or like nothing I have to say matters. I just don’t know why this is, it bothers me a lot in the professional setting but I’ve found even sometimes my husband just brushes me off. It’s been a pattern.

I have a positive attitude, I dress well, am confident, and have a significant amount of education to get where I’m at. While I don’t really care about what anyone “thinks” of me, I’m tired of being treated like a joke.
