Is it normal to go almost an entire year without having sex? It all started because my husband said our bed isn’t made for sex and we’re also not able to get pregnant due to male factor infertility. Thoughts

Well clearly he feels bad that he can't have kids. some people have grown up thinking the only thing that sex is good for is having kids if they can't have kids they don't want to have sex. He's going to have to do therapy to get through this

I don’t think it’s normal. If it bothers you, you should try and talk to him about it. Maybe it’s a deeper issue because I don’t understand how a “bed not being made for sex” is a valid excuse. Maybe he feels guilty that he is having reproductive issues. You could try to initiate it with him sometime too. It doesn’t have to be on the bed lol

Depends on what’s normal in your relationship. We have sex 3-4 times a week. I also have a friend who has sex 3-4 times a month and that’s normal to them. Husband and I have semi high sex drive. BUT oddly enough I can also go without it.

Barring being physically separated or a long-lasting medical problem, I don’t think it’s normal to go that long if the relationship previously included sex.

My neighbors growing up didn’t have sex for 5 years at one point and were still happy together. It really depends on the couple. As someone else mentioned therapy could help him. Maybe talk to him and see if he just isn’t interested or is embarrassed. 
If it’s bothering you ask him what you guys can do to bring his libido back. Or invest in a vibrator for yourself.

Is it normal for YOUR relationship to go for long periods of time without sex or intimacy?
For me, I know this would not be normal.
Have you discussed your sex life with him? Sounds like he may be feeling a way because of issues surrounding getting pregnant

I’ve gone 7 consecutive months without due to deployment. I wouldn’t consider it normal in regular relationships where both people are present and able..maybe he feels embarrassed or demasculinated due to his fertility issue and is avoiding intimacy because of that?

The only time I’ve gone a year without sex in my marriage was when we were stationed in two separate countries and didn’t see eachother for the whole year. Right now we are going on a month but it’s due to pregnancy complications. Everyone has different needs, but I know without it being a location/medical issue I wouldn’t be okay with going that long.
