Do you expect something for Valentine’s Day?

Like from your significant other do you expect something? Whether big or small… also if you comment, would you be upset if you didn’t get anything not even acknowledgement?

At very minimum, I kinda expect to get at least a kiss and a “happy Valentine’s Day” …. Usually my husband gives a small gift or card or flowers. I don’t “expect” it, but I really love that he does it. 
& yes, I would be super bummed if I didn’t get at least the acknowledgment. It IS a special day & SHOULD be acknowledged !

Yes! My husband and I take any excuse to celebrate each-other, so valentines day is pretty big in our house. Even when we’re tight on money: hand written letters, candy, paintings etc mean a lot.

I would say I expected as in “he’s done this every year already so I imagine/expect him to do it again this year” kind of way. 
Not an “I require this of him” kind of expectation.

I’ve been married 24 years it would be nice to get something but in our whole 27 year relationship I’ve only probably received 5 Valentine’s Day gifts.

We don’t do valentines - but we enjoy cheap chocolate on the 15th 😂
My husbands birthday is the 19th of February so we celebrate/dinner/fun day out then 🥰

Well, my relationship is weird, we are long distance again, and we don't really celebrate a lot of holidays in general... 
I mentioned valentine's day to them and they said perhaps we should talk on the phone that day ^.^ 
I definitely don't expect a gift. But the phone call would be nice. 
Also we are polyam, and I don't expect a gift from anyone else. 
In general, I don't normally celebrate valentine's day, but I would not mind it if someone wanted to.

I don’t expect anything from anyone, if someone wants to buy me something, then I’ll gladly except it, if they don’t, that’s also their decision. If I want some thing myself, I’ll go buy it. If my partner does buy me something, of course I’ll except it and be grateful, but it’s just a day of the week, no biggie it’s just another Monday. I do things for other people, I don’t expect anything in return.￼
